New Orleans Saints Betting Trends
Derek Carr sparkled in his Saints debut, passing for 305 yards and a touchdown on just 33 attempts. Even Michael Thomas (remember him?) showed up with 5 catches and 62 yards in week 1.
Second-year wide receiver Chris Olave picked up right where he left off last year with 8 catches for 112 yards. Olave looked unguardable against the Titans and should feast on a shorthanded Carolina secondary.

New Orleans played a gritty game of defense against Tennessee, holding the Titans to just 295 total yards. The Saints secondary played a ton of man-to-man coverage and picked off Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill three times. If the Saints can force a veteran quarterback into that many mistakes, imagine what they’ll do to a rookie.
Curiously, the Saints went just 1-3 ATS as favorites of three points or more last season.

Carolina Panthers Betting Trends
There were always going to be growing pains in Carolina. While rookie first-overall pick Bryce Young has a ton of potential, he’s going to need some time to adjust to the rigors of the NFL. Young completed 20 of 38 passes for 141 yards a touchdown and two interceptions in an up and down debut.
Young and the Panthers struggled for long stretches of the game. The rookie signal-caller, who slipped to third in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds after Week 1, was often under pressure behind an overmatched offensive line. While he was only sacked twice, the former Alabama pivot was hurried and harassed in the pocket throughout the game. Young was unable to adjust to the pressure, and he’s unlikely to get any breaks against a far more talented Saints front.

Additionally, Carolina could struggle if corner Jaycee Horn misses extended time. Horn will undergo surgery on his injured hamstring and will miss Monday Night Football and at least the next four weeks. Carolina’s secondary depth will certainly tested by the likes of Olave, Thomas, and Rashid Shaheed.
Intriguingly, the total has gone under in all 5 of Carolina’s last 5 games versus New Orleans.
Saints vs Panthers Prediction
Ultimately, this Saints vs Panthers game will come down to the Panthers’ ability to keep Bryce Young clean in the pocket. Disrupting a rookie quarterbacks’ timing and rhythm is a recipe for success in the NFL.
While the Panthers took both matchups with the Saints last season, the carcass of Andy Dalton started those contests for the black and gold. New Orleans should have no trouble getting after Young on Monday night. Expect the Saints’ defense to generate a turnover or two while their offense rolls.
Roughly 24 hours before kickoff, the Saints are getting a massive 93% of moneyline handle in the NFL public betting trends, meaning this line is likely to get shorter as game-time approaches. So don’t hesitate if you are on New Orleans.
Saints vs Panthers Pick: New Orleans Saints -3 (-110)
